These Curaplex® non-rebreathing masks are used to deliver up to 90% oxygen. Oxygen enters through the nipple grommet and inflates the reservoir bag with 100% oxygen. The patient draws from the oxygen in the reservoir bag, plus entrains a small amount of room air though the holes on one side of the mask. The holes on the other side are covered by a one-way valve that will not allow room air to enter the mask. Exhaled air exits through the holes on both sides of the mask.
